Bodies in Association

Christians committed together

A wide range of organisations and networks draws Christians of all churches together around common causes, projects and interests. These are the Bodies in Association with Churches Together in England (CTE) and Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI), schools of ecumenical living and working. They are listed below.
They do not form part of the churches’ official structures but, as voluntary associations of Christ’s people or movements within the Church, their participation in the churches’ ecumenism and mission before the world is recognised and valued.

A key element within Churches Together in England

The Bodies meet twice a year and are part of the governance structure of CTE in two ways. The meeting elects two representatives to the Enabling Group which gathers twice a year and is the members’ meeting to which the Board of Directors is responsible.

CTE’s triennial Forum also presents an opportunity for Bodies to present their work to the wider Church.

Working in all aspects of church life

Bodies in Association are active in many of the same fields as CTE and CTBI. With members and projects across the country, they can work with all types of ecumenical groups including County bodies and local Churches Together groups.

See a Feb 2013 leaflet describing CTE Bodies in Association further.
