Red Box Base Group (?):   Link to the About page

Many groups of churches in a local area engage in mission projects. This page will point to where you can find the stories, resources and reflections to help start or develop mission projects.

By 'mission' here, we simply mean 'sent' from the Latin 'missio'. This is a broad definition and includes anything that the churches are 'sent' to do. It has more to do with action than reflection, and is one of the three core elements of the CTE strategy for 2014.

Many churches share the 'Five Marks of Mission' originally described by the Anglican Communion and summarised as:
  1. To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom
  2. To teach, baptise and nurture new believers
  3. To respond to human need by loving service
  4. To seek to transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and to pursue peace and reconciliation
  5. To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth
